My activity level shifts dramatically depending on if I’m at work or not. When I’m at work, my brain activity needs to be off the charts, but my physical level of activity rests at about a 1.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. My exercise is derived from typing furiously, taking daily lunch break walks, and making hourly trips to the bathroom or water cooler.
The second I leave the office, things change. I always seem to have things to do after work, whether it’s teaching piano lessons, running errands, cleaning apartment, cooking. If I don’t have something scheduled I’m at the gym where I try to work out my hardest since I get virtually no physical activity during the day.
My body does not like the quick changes in energy levels and often times I end up dealing with a stiff neck from writing all day (I also hold my breath when I write… does anyone else do this??), or sore knees from busting my butt on the treadmill.
Thankfully, I now am using little miracle workers that can be purchased for under $5.00 at any drug store: Salonpas.
Salonpas are little pads available at most convenience stores (and amazon) and $5.00 will secure you a pack of 40. You simply apply the salonpas patch to your aching area and suddenly you feel warm and tingly goodness in the place of pain. I would compare these patches to a concentrated type of Tigerblam or Icy Hot, except they work much better than either of these products for me.
Athletes, office workers, and athlete/office workers fear not! Salonpas are here to save the day. Have you ever tried these little patches of goodness?
